Terms of Service — WonderHood

Effective date: September 4, 2025 · Planned review by: December 31, 2026

Organization: WonderHood, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Colorado, USA.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the WonderHood website, programs, and events (collectively, the “Services”). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1) Eligibility & Accounts

  • WonderHood programs are designed for homeschool and online-learning youth. Participation in events, clubs, workshops, and camps is intended for participants who are currently homeschooled or enrolled in an online learning program.
  • Accounts are created by adults (parent/guardian) for themselves and on behalf of participating children.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms or for safety reasons.

2) Code of Conduct

  • Be respectful; no harassment, hate speech, threats, or unsafe behavior.
  • No spam, fraud, or unlawful activity.
  • Follow staff/volunteer instructions during events for safety.

3) Programs, Registration & Cancellations

  • For safety and planning, each participating child must be registered/enrolled for the event. Children may not attend without registration and a signed waiver when required.
  • Spots may be limited. Registration is confirmed when you receive a confirmation email or see a confirmation notice in your account.
  • We may reschedule or cancel an event for safety, weather, or operational reasons; we’ll notify registrants as soon as practical.
  • Some activities may require a separate Participant Waiver/Release (including emergency contact/health notes). Participation may be denied without a signed waiver.

4) Donations & Payments

Donations and program fees (if any) are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card or bank account details. Donations are generally non-refundable. If you believe a donation was made in error (for example, a duplicate charge or incorrect amount), please contact us within 7 days at info@whproject.org. We will review the request and, if appropriate, issue a refund to the original payment method. Note: banks and card issuers may also offer dispute/chargeback rights under their policies.

We email receipts that include our EIN. If no goods or services were provided in exchange for a contribution, the donation may be tax-deductible under U.S. law (“No goods or services were provided in exchange for this contribution.”).

5) Photos & Media

With parent/guardian consent, photos/videos from events may be used to share program highlights on our website and social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn). You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us; we’ll stop future use and make reasonable efforts to remove prior posts within our control. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6) User Content & Intellectual Property

  • Site content, logos, and materials are owned by WonderHood or licensed to us and are protected by law.
  • If you submit content you own (for example, testimonials or photos), you grant WonderHood a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display it for nonprofit purposes related to our mission.
  • Do not upload content you do not have the right to share or that violates others’ rights.

7) Assumption of Risk & Waiver

Outdoor and community activities involve inherent risks (weather, terrain, physical exertion, etc.). By registering yourself or a child, you acknowledge these risks and agree to follow safety guidance from staff/volunteers. Some events may require signing an additional Waiver/Release; participation may be denied without it. WonderHood does not provide medical advice or services. Waivers may be signed electronically.

8) Disclaimers

The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free.

9) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WonderHood and its volunteers, staff, and directors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits or data, arising out of or related to your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claims related to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid to us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or $100, whichever is greater. Some states do not allow certain limitations, so the limitation above applies to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10) Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Services at any time for violations of these Terms or for safety/security reasons. Upon termination, certain provisions that by their nature should survive (e.g., Donations & Payments, IP, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Governing Law) will survive.

11) Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to seek an informal resolution first by contacting us. If unresolved, disputes shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Colorado, and you consent to their jurisdiction and venue.

12) Privacy

Our collection and use of personal data are described in our Privacy Policy.

13) Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective date” above reflects the latest version. If we make material changes, we will post an update on our site or contact you when appropriate. We intend to review these Terms no later than December 31, 2026.
